The Story Behind our Logo

Read more below on the history of Sailor's Rest!

The Sailor's Rest logo features two frigate birds rising in the sky over the water and a setting sun shaped like a ship's wheel. The name, "Sailor’s Rest," was an instant fit as that is what we are, a place for sailors to finally rest after many years at sea. Our family spent 30+ years for the adults and 15 years for their daughter (me) sailing around the Bahamas and Caribbean on a Pearson 424 sailboat. We finally chose Johns Island near Charleston, SC as our place to “put down anchor” and cultivate the vast gardens you see at Sailor’s Rest today.
